I’m Juuso Tornberg, a graduate of the Guitar Making school at Ikaalinen College of Crafts and Design in Finland. Before enrolling in the school, I had built my first steel-string acoustic guitar in a community college guitar-making course. That was when I first fell in love with building steel-string acoustics.
Eager to learn more, I decided to pursue the art of lutherie. During my studies, I completed a 7-month internship with Ari-Jukka Luomaranta at AJL-Guitars. Working with him, I learned the art of luthiery through Gypsy jazz guitars. My focus and passion lie in building steel-string acoustic guitars, so after graduation, I began developing my own style and model of modern acoustic guitar, influenced by many contemporary luthiers.
I began my musical journey at the age of seven and have always had a passion for working with wood and hand tools. Guitar making allows me to bring these two interests together. With 15 years of experience as a graphic designer, I’ve developed a unique design aesthetic that shapes my approach to guitar visually. I’m continually refining my skills to enhance the tone and craft the finest instrument possible for you. I invite you to join me on this journey as I create your dream guitar.
